Qualifications
Be 21 years of age. There are no maximum age limits.

Be in general good health, drug free and have sufficient strength, stamina and agility as required by duties of the position.
Possess a high school diploma or GED by the completion of training.
Be free from felony and Class A or B misdemeanor convictions.
Have a good educational and work record and excellent moral character.
Have normal hearing, normal color vision and depth perception, binocular vision, distance and near vision (with lenses) must be 20/30 each eye.
Obtain a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License and establish residence in Connecticut before graduating from the Academy.
Be in compliance with the Department's tattoo and body modification policies.

INFORMATION & EVENTS

Physical Fitness Assessment
The Physical Fitness test is comprised of 4 events. The exercises measure muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, and anaerobic power. (i.e., sit-ups, 300 meter run, push-ups and 1.5 mile run). Applicants MUST meet the requirements for each exercise based on gender and age, resulting in a score of at least 40%. You should begin preparing for this section of the test as soon as possible.

The Connecticut State Police will accept valid CHIP cards. Applicants are strongly encouraged to obtain a CHIP card which can be obtained at the candidates own expense, and submitted to CSP Recruitment upon request. For more information click below:
